Synopsis

As part of Southampton Film Week, the city's annual film festival, we are pleased to invite you to three film presentations. Each film is showing for the first time in Southampton, and Short Story Cinema also includes the world premiere of short film Alaúde, from fresh Southampton talent!

Tuesday 9 November

6.30pm Film screening - Fragments

Director James Scott covers the trajectory of artist Derek Boshier, who lives and works in LA and was recently awarded an hororary doctorate at Solent University, across a series of projects and using ‘fragments’ of Boshier’s own film work. 

7.45pm Film screening - Derek

Award winning and poetic telling of the Derek Jarman story through extensive use of archive footage, created by acclaimed artist and filmmaker Isaac Julien in collaboration with Tilda Swinton.
