Synopsis

Mayflower Movers is a fun and supportive dance group for adults age 55+, funded by Southampton City Council. Participants will be guided through a gentle warm-up, short exercises and creative dance routines to positively impact physical and mental well-being. We will explore expression and tension relief, the use of breath and the development of mobility and strength across the body.

Term 1 will predominately focus on dance and movement from popular musicals and term 2 will look at dance styles from around the world including Flamenco, Samba, Tango and various other styles.

No previous dance experience is required, adaptations will be offered and optional chair use will be welcomed and included.

The class will be taught bare foot, however participants are welcome to wear socks or comfortable shoes if needed for stability.

Term 1: 17 May - 14 June	£20.00 for all 5 sessions
Term 2: 28 June - 26 July	£20.00 for all 5 sessions
